The Comets held a highly-successful End of Season Presentation Evening at a packed Workington Railway Club tonight to celebrate the greatest ever season in the Comets history!
There was not a seat to be had as this became the 'hottest ticket in town' with everyone wanting to celebrate the Comets incredibly successful treble-winning season!

Unfortunately Mason Campton (back home in Australia for the Queensland State Title tomorrow) and Rene Bach (work commitments in Denmark) were unable to attend, but with the Comets three national title trophies on display, resplendent in blue and white ribbons, and the remaining five Comets in attendance along with the management and track staff; everyone joined in what became a fantastic evening of celebrations.

And, as always, after the traditional end of season speeches from the riders and management, there were plenty of awards to be handed out with Rasmus Jensen winning the most awards as he picked up three trophies for his efforts this season.

The night's winners were:

Most Rider of the Night nominations: Rasmus Jensen

Most Bonus Points: Mason Campton

Most Improved Average: Dan Bewley

The Colin Dickinson award for the most points in heat 15 of league matches: Nicolai Klindt

The Most Improved Rider, sponsored by Kirkland Carpets: Kyle Bickley

The Most Exciting Rider: Rasmus Jensen

The 'News & Star' Rider of the Year Award: Rasmus Jensen

The Ian Thomas Award for Services to Workington Speedway: Liz Fleming

Additionally, as ever, the night also saw the launch of the Comets 'Treble Winning 2019 Calendar' with sales being very brisk throughout the night.

This has once again been very kindly produced by our good friends and supporters of the Comets at POD; so a very big thanks goes out to them for that.

As ever, this will also be available online from the Comets website with the price held once again at just £5 (plus P & P) for a great souvenir of what has been a fantastic season for the Comets.
